Counterfeit Money Passed in Avery and Mitchell County

On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at around 3pm, Avery County Detectives investigated a report of two counterfeit $20 bills being passed at the Spear Store. The suspects were believed to be travelling in a green Jeep Cherokee. Detective Catalano advises that two suspects have been interviewed. On Thursday, Mitchell County Detectives investigated a report of a counterfeit $20 that had been passed at Hartsell Scrap Metal in SprucePine on Wednesday.
