“All American” Eclipse Party Planned

The “All American” Eclipse Party will be hosted on the Creekwalk Soccer Field in Bakersville, N.C.

BAKERSVILLE, N.C. — The Town of Bakersville will be hosting an upcoming “All American” Eclipse Day Party on Monday, August 21, 2017.

On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of the continental United States will experience an eclipse for the first time in 99 years. Mitchell County will experience a partial eclipse off 99% totality for the first time in almost 40 years!

The “All American” Eclipse Day Party will be hosted on the Creekwalk Soccer Field in Bakersville between 1:00 and 4:00 pm, sponsored by the Town of Bakersville, Mitchell County Public Library, and Bakersville Cub Scouts.

Free Eclipse Glasses will be available per family. Seating will be available. A telescope will be available to look through with lens filter as well. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

The next solar eclipse will be in 2024, so be sure to bring your family to this event for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

An “All American” Solar Eclipse Information Party will also be hosted at Mitchell County Public Library on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 6pm with presentation by Bakersville Cub Scouts “Pack 515” by Aaron Young (Den Leader) and Wesley Pipes (Cubmaster). Refreshments will be available. All ages welcome!
