Report of a residential burglar alarm activation on Odoms Chapel Road. County law enforcement response requested and is on scene.
Update: The alarm company made contact with the homeowner, who was not at home and advised nobody should be at the residence. The homeowner has requested an emergency law enforcement response.
Update: A county law enforcement officer responded to the scene on Odoms Chapel Road and investigated the residence after an alarm was activated indicating a possible burglary had taken place. Upon arrival, the officer observed an unoccupied vehicle in the driveway described as a Lincoln that was registered to a Roan Mountain, Tennessee address. The officer conducted a perimeter check of the residence. The officer was unable to detect any evidence indicating forced entry into the residence during the investigation. The officer also inspected the doors and windows and found them to all be secure. County law enforcement is clear of the scene and back in service.
Update: After receiving a second alarm at the residence, the officer responded back to the scene on Odoms Chapel Road and investigated the residence further. Additional investigation conducted by the officer resulted in no new evidence indicating any forced entry being detected and inspection of the doors and windows indicated they were still secure. County law enforcement is clear of the scene and back in service.
